One time Talion suggested they leave the gate and Ioreth asked whether Talion had spoken to her father about this. Dirhael was raised at the Black Gate and when he became old enough, Talion began to train him as a soldier. Ioreth gave birth to a son which they named Dirhael. Talion led a search party to find Hirgon, knowing that if he was found, the other rangers would kill him for being a deserter. Hirgon was thought to be killed around this time, although he had actually survived and was hiding in Mordor.

He finally passed when Sauron was defeated at the end of the third age where he finally was able to rest in peace.ĭuring his time at the Black Gate, around TA 2931, Talion teamed up with fellow ranger Hirgon. Eventually the power of the wraith ring overcame him and he became one of the Nazgûl. Talion took Isildur's ring of power which kept him alive for a while as he protected the Palantir in Minas Morgul from Sauron. Celebrimbor eventually left Talion and entered Eltariel the elf in an attempt to defeat Sauron once and for all and left Talion for dead.

They eventually forged a New Ring of power in Mordor and a long-lasting war between Sauron and Talion in Mordor began. Celebrimbor merged with Talion and the two worked as one to get revenge on the Black Hand.

He was slain by the Black Hand of Sauron when Sauron's forces attacked the Black Gate and was sacrificed along with his family in a ritual to call the spirit of the elf-lord Celebrimbor from the dead. Talion was a Gondorian Ranger of the Black Gate who was stationed at the border of Mordor during the Third Age.
